Ane and Thomas still live together, but their relationship is over. When Ane unexpectedly suffers a brain haemorrhage, they find themselves forced to live together once more. Whilst Thomas looks after her, Ane must learn to cope with a body that has suddenly let her down.

Beginnings is both a film about rehabilitation and about a relationship drawing to a close. With powerful performances by Trine Dyrholm and David Dencik, the film explores how love, anger, dependence and loss relate to one another. A sensitive yet defiant portrait of two people forced to reflect on what has passed.
