Workshop Dabke at CC De Werf

dance as a symbol of resistance, community and solidarity

Dabke is a Levantine folk dance that literally means ‘stomping.’ Traditionally, it is a dance of community and joy, but in Palestine it has also become a powerful symbol of resistance and cultural identity.

Today, in light of the ongoing genocide, Dabke takes on an even deeper meaning: it is a way to affirm presence, preserve heritage, and find strength together against oppression. Each stomp echoes the refusal to be erased and the choice to continue to exist together.

Whether you are experienced or not, everyone is welcome to join in, learn and form a circle of solidarity together.
