Manus presents: Risonances

Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue

Risonances is an exhibition that highlights the diversity and creativity of Manus image-makers. Inspired by the risoprint technique and the idea of resonance, this exhibition establishes a visual dialogue between the artists and their work, with each work contributing as an echo to a larger narrative.

Risography is a key stylistic element of Manus magazine. Image creators (graphic artists, photographers and illustrators) were given the chance to leave their mark on an issue each time. In the exhibition, risoprints are used to link the various media and styles of some 15 image-makers.

At the centre are the risoprints of portraits created especially for Manus; these portraits form the connecting link between all participants and Manus itself. Around these portraits, the artists each present four works, according to the creative theme: Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue. These themes invite free interpretation, where old work, new creations, sources of inspiration or surprising colour accents combine to form a rich palette of stories and styles.

The exhibition is also accompanied by an exclusive riso zine, which acts as the artists’ programme sheet and portfolio. Thus, Risonances becomes not only an exhibition, but also a lively platform for exchange and growth within the creative community.
