In L’intérêt d’Adam, Belgian filmmaker Laura Wandel follows the moving story of Lucy, a dedicated nurse who does everything she can to put empathy at the heart of caring for Adam, a four-year-old boy suffering from severe malnutrition. In an understaffed paediatric ward, Lucy and Adam’s mother Rebecca fight together against the limitations of an exhausted healthcare system.

Wandel, known for Un monde, brings the intensity of hospital life to life frame by frame with intimate handheld camerawork. The result is a moving and human portrait of care, connection and an indestructible belief in the power of cinema as an instrument for change.
