On vous croit is a gripping courtroom drama about a mum trying to protect her kids from her ex-husband, who’s demanding custody again. During a long, nerve-wracking hearing, she has to stand her ground while her credibility is undermined and painful accusations are questioned. The film takes place largely within the walls of the courtroom and shows in almost real time how words, tone and body language can be decisive. With an intense performance by Myriem Akheddiou, On vous croit shows how exhausting and precarious the struggle to be heard and believed can be.
