Sing Sing is a 2023 American film directed by Greg Kwedar. The film is based on a 2005 article about a theatre rehabilitation programme at the heavily guarded Sing Sing prison in Ossining, New York. Only Colman Domingo and Paul Raci are professional actors; the rest of the cast consists of ex-prisoners who themselves participated in the programme. The film tells the true story of prisoners getting a new chance through theatre.

We chose Sing Sing because the film shows in a special way how art and connection can make a difference even within prison walls. It is not only a gripping story, but also touches on important themes such as recovery, second chances and the power of creativity in people’s lives.
