On 29 January 2024, the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza receives an emergency call: six-year-old Hind Rajab is trapped in a car while the Israeli army fires around her. Her family has been killed; she is the only one still in contact with the emergency services by telephone.

Oscar-nominated Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania relives this tragic event through original telephone conversations, supplemented with staged scenes. Through their performances, the actors bring panic, silences, moral questions and insurmountable barriers tangibly close. Inevitably and poignantly, the film holds up a mirror to collective and individual failure, and resonates as a powerful plea for humanity.
